Street vendors - In NYC in the summer every weekend day you will find some street or more closed for street fairs. Basically, it’s a standard mix of food vendors (eat at your own risk - and New Yorkers do), and goods vendors anywhere from trinkets, to clothes, to antiques, to soap.
Summer in many of the city parks. Finding a seat on a bench is gold!
Waterfront at the tip of Manhattan - a nice place to sit and watch the sunset.
Central Park - a weekend Mecca for New Yorkers in the summer I once walked right by Kevin Bacon, Kyra Sedgwick and their family in Central Park.
